Arena hosts inter-centre competition & Placement Expo in Delhi

New Delhi: Arena Animation organized Creative Minds, an inter-centre competition for Arena’s students in North India, along with a Placement Expo in New Delhi.

The Placement Expo included a seminar & aptitude test conducted by award-winning animation studio Rhythm & Hues (India). The students also got a chance to present their show reels to various animation studios, production houses & other companies that were present for recruitment.

Companies such as Kaleidoscope Entertainment, Planman Technologies, Nimble Technologies, Shiva Infotech, Alchemist Film Productions, GETIT Infoservices, Vanglez Technologies, SamSoft Solutions & Web Commerce India shortlisted candidates after the first round of interviews & on the basis of the show reel presented by them.

Animators Subhajit Sarkar, Shekher Mukherjee and Subhadarshi Tripathy were part of the jury for the Creative Minds competition. Students showcased their work - consisting of an advertisement design to promote an original brand, either for the print medium or in a multimedia format (Interactive CD ROM presentation/ Animation/ Web designing). Awards were given to the best 3 entries in two categories.

Says Indranil Basu, Academic Head, Arena Animation (North & East territory): “Arena Animation has always made efforts to prepare students to become industry-ready professionals. Through this event, we encourage students to be more focused and professional in their work and attitude. In this Creative Minds competition, we evaluated students’ originality, creativity, technical proficiency, presentation skills & time management, etc - which are the essential ingredients to flourish in the multimedia industry. The Placement Expo gave them a platform to interact and present their work to HR persons of reputed companies."
