Arena students win at the 6th ADDA Short Film Festival 2009
Assam: Students of the Arena centre in Panbazar, Assam, won Awards at the 6th ADDA Short Film Festival 2009. The event was held on Sunday, 6th December, at Rabindra Bhawan, Guwahati, Assam.
Entries to the Festival were open to all individuals/ groups from the North-East region of India. Of these, 5 entries were nominated under the ‘Talent of the Year’ category. 2 films created by students of Arena Animation were selected for Awards in this category.
The award-winning short animation films (‘Talent of the Year’ category) are:
- We need to change us...not the planet
- Stand together against terrorism
These films were helmed by the following students of Arena Animation:
- Pranab Kr. Sikdar (Team Leader)
- Kironjit Bhoumik
- Nilam Pankaj Dowerah
- Amarjyoti Borthakur
- Arindom Khataniar
- Amarjyoti Das
- Dipjyoti Sarmah
The Award for the Best Animation Movie went to Jiten Das for his film, The Thief. Das is an alumnus of Arena Panbazar.
The Festival saw active participation from industry experts, film directors & producers, critics and journalists.
