Avengers: Infinity War is undoubtedly the most awaited movie of the year. Yet again, Russo brothers with their success in making superhero action movies like Captain America: The Winter Solider and Civil War have struck the audience with another masterpiece. This movie may even change the pace and standards of the cinematic history.
To all the dedicated MCU fans, this is the fair warning for those who haven’t seen the Avengers third instalment yet.
Big bad Thanos
Infinity War is more of a supervillain movie than a superhero movie. It gives the fans a closer look at the mad titan Thanos. The ultra-powerful character made his first appearance in 2012 The Avengers, got a little screen time in 2014 Guardians Of The Galaxy, and again in 2015 Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Thanos is a serious and eminent threat. However, Marvel manages to show Thanos as more than an evil menace. The film dives into his motives and goals, his story and sacrifice.
And to talk about the cast of Thanos, Josh Brolin has done a great job in giving the fans what they wanted. His performance made the audience leave the theatre in horror and shock, giving the MCU a green signal that the fans will be eagerly waiting for the answers of the cliff-hanger in the 4th Avengers movie.
No such thing as too many superheroes
Infinity War is a historic gathering of MCU’s characters. We see a lot of odd combinations and circumstances – a humorous Iron Man alongside the sarcastic Doctor Strange, a Star-Lord who is jealous of the mighty Thor, Captain America reaching out to the Black Panther for help – and so on. Infinity War handles this abundance of superheroes amazingly well. Every hero gets his/her limelight moment in the movie. And we get to see a comic chemistry between certain characters that gives us goosebumps on an exponential scale.
All Marvel movies rely on visual effects greatly, but this one is absolutely enormous. One could simply state that this movie has the best CGI and visual effects used so far in Marvel movies.
The CGI for Thanos has been improvised since his first appearance. The incremental shifts of his expressions are remarkable. From CGI characters to VFX fight scenes, this movie presented a whole range of possibilities for the VFX effects artists.
Ever since the trailer for the movie released, one question occurred at the top of people’s minds – where’s Hawkeye? Unfortunately, two of the noticeable characters, The Hawkeye and The Antman have been missing in the ultimate fight and have left fans a little heart broken. We are now expecting these characters to make an appearance in the film’s sequel.
We also see introduction of some new characters into the movie – Corvus Glaive, Proxima Midnight, Black Dwarf, and Ebony Maw on the evil side and Eitri the giant king of the dwarves on the good side. The movie doesn’t spend much time on their character development, but overall it’s satisfactory.
Expect the unexpected
As Benedict Cumberbatch said in one of his interviews, “expect the unexpected”. Many scenes have been cut out and edited from the trailer. So the fan theories based on the trailers won’t probably find any grounds. But the editing is so good that it doesn’t make the audience feel that there are any holes in the plot.
*Heavy Spoilers Ahead!!*
What exactly made us feel that this was MCU’s best movie till date was the unusual ending it had.
Seeing our heroes fall was the one that made this movie an exception from all the other movies. It was one of the boldest moves of Marvel ever.
Yet, we know that this not ‘the end’. Fans around the world now wish to see how the plot unfolds in the upcoming sequel.
