Arena Animation has a long standing presence of over 15 years in Barrackpore, Kolkata. Located at 87 Ghosh Para Road, the Barrackpore centre is at two minutes of walking distance from the Barrackpore railway station and a few seconds walk from Disha Eye Hospital bus stop.

Aankaja is a two-day annual event organised by Arena Animation Barrackpore. The event is a platform for the students to showcase their artworks – such as graphics, and 2D & 3D animation short films. Around 700 to 800 visitors, including the parents of the students, attends the event. A jury consisting of eminent personalities from the media & entertainment industry reviews the student work, offers creative guidance to generate innovative ideas, and criticises constructively to help them improve. Winners are awarded trophies & certificates during the Awards Night.
The centre hosts workshops & master classes conducted by industry experts. Recently, the National award winning film director Srijit Mukherjee conducted a special training session on editing for the students of Arena Animation Barrackpore.
The centre offers drawing and clay modeling classes to enhance the quality of output of work created by the students. Faculty with fine arts training conducts these classes.
Apart from creative activities, students are also involved in outdoor sports - including cricket, football, and kabadi. Indoor games and activities include carom & darts.
The centre celebrates various festivals & special occasions where the students participate in activities including singing, dancing, acting, and fun games. The Anniversary of the centre, Panchami Special Program on the eve of Durga Puja, and the New Year's Eve Gala are a few highlights of this centre.
The lead singer of the band Fossils & the winner of the National Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer Rupam Islam recently visited and performed at the Arena Barrackpore centre.
Students of Arena Animation Barrackpore centre actively participate in Creative Minds, Arena's flagship inter-centre student competition, where students produce and showcase some brilliant work. In the year 2012-13, the centre bagged nine awards.
Films created by students of the centre are screened at various International Film Festivals. A 3D animation short film, 'Safar – The Journey', created by the students and faculty of Arena Animation Barrackpore centre, was screened the River Film Festival, Italy, in 2014.
The centre prepares students for technical & verbal interviews for job placements. Students prepare resume & a demo reel of their work before venturing out for interviews at various studios and companies. As a result of such extensive preparation, students of the Arena Barrackpore centre have been placed with top companies - including NDTV, National Geographic, Zee TV, Tata Consultancy Services, Prime Focus, ABP Ltd., Marching Ants, Aura Cinematics, and Blowfish FX.
Poulomi Ghosh, who has completed Degree in Animation from Arena Animation Barrackpore, says:
