Arena Animation prepares students for careers in animation, VFX, graphics & web designing, and gaming industry, through its wide network of centres across India.

Arena has a long standing presence in Chandigarh, Sector 17, since 1996. Conveniently located at the Bridge Road, the Sector 17 centre is at one minute of walking distance from the Inter State Bus Terminus (ISBT).

The faculty of this centre is well trained and is always available for one-to-one guidance for students. The centre has well-equipped classrooms with state-of-the-art technology, high-end animation tools, art rooms & practice labs. Students get the opportunity to learn green screen technology with the help of the high-end Chroma Key equipments & accessories such as Chroma Key body suit & backdrops here. The centre provides DSLR cameras along with professional video camera camcorder stabilizer Glide Gear 5050 to students, for photography & filmmaking. GO48! International Awards

Chandigarh Sector 17 centre of Arena Animation organises GO48!, an annual event to showcase the creative talents of their students. During the 10 days of competition, students work under tight deadlines to create high quality animation clips & designs. These works are then showcased online for the world to see. Over the last few years, the entries received over 100,000 views. The event also includes interactive & educational master classes conducted by the industry experts.

A jury comprising of eminent people from animation & VFX studios and academics evaluates the student works and choose the winners. Some of the jury members of this competition include the former Deputy Director STPI Ajay Prasad, Professor of IIT Roorkee Dr. Palsule, Chairman of Dept of Indian Theatre Dr. Mahender Kumar, and renowned artists & professors in Fine Arts College Anjali Savita & Sanjay Kumar.

GO48! International Awards

The event concludes with an Awards Night where the winners are awarded trophies & certificates. Student works in the categories of design, 2D & 3D short films, VFX & live action clips are showcased to the visitors at the awards function.

The entire event is managed by the students with help of an organising committee. The exhibition is not only important for students but also for their parents. They get to see their child's hard work and creativity.

Even though GO48! is primarily an event for students of Arena Animation centres in Chandigarh, the entry for the creative competitions is open to all media students around the world.

Workshops & Master Classes

The centre frequently hosts workshops & master classes by industry experts. Renowned animation designer Prosenjit Ganguly has conducted various training & workshop sessions for students, on topics including Character Design, Clay, Light, & Sand Animation. To get the most out of this experience, students were given an opportunity to create their own assignments before the workshop, and work on them during the workshop.

The centre organises workshops associated with all popular art forms. These sessions by the industry experts and the practical approach help students to learn the best methods used by top design & animation professionals.

Photography Workshops

The centre conducts an outdoor photography workshop every month. Students learn important photography techniques and apply them at some of the exciting destinations in Chandigarh - the Kansal Forest, Chhatbir Zoo, Rock Garden, and more - during these sessions.

Studio Visits

The centre organises visits to animation & VFX, web design, and film studios for their students, once in three months. These studio visits help students meet professionals from the industry, see their work, and get hands-on experience with production methods & new technologies.

Fine Art Classes

Fine Art Classes

The centre organises sketching classes by top professionals, for students of all levels of experience. Students learn to draw a live model, just as in life drawing classes at popular fine art colleges. Such extensive & practical learning yield results; students of the centre have successfully secured seats in top international colleges such as Sheridan College, Vancouver Film School, and Emily Carr, three popular colleges in Canada, and Bournemouth University in England.

Finishing School Program

The centre organises professional finishing school activities to enhance the employability of the students. Workshops are conducted by India's leading trainers and industry experts who work on real assignments in India & abroad. These are exclusive programs for students who wish to specialize in 3D Character Animation upon completion of a course from Arena Chandigarh Sector 17 centre. The success rate of the finishing school program is 100% as each of the participants are now employed in leading studios including Xentrix in Bangalore, DQ in Hyderabad, and MEL in Mumbai.


Techkriti is an interactive session conducted by Arena Animation Sector 17, Chandigarh centre, where the gurus of animation, VFX, and gaming industries discuss new & emerging industry trends with students. Students get the opportunity to interact with professionals and learn more about getting started in the industry. Recently, sessions were conducted on topics such as augmented reality, camera angles, and careers in VFX & gaming industries.

Some of the speakers of the event include - the award winning Bollywood VFX expert Meesha Gautam, Hollywood short film director & actor Peter Wiant, animation film Art Director from PIXAR Anthony Kristoff, International Admissions Advisor of Vancouver Film School Diwakar Gandhi, animation designer Prosenjit Ganguly, and VFX Artist Avi Arora.

Job Placements

The centre holds career counselling and training sessions with India's leading Shiksha Experts who helps & guides students in making the right career decision. The grooming & personality development sessions at the centre improve the communication & presentation skills of the students, and build their confidence for job interviews. The faculty prepares students for technical & verbal interviews for job placements, and helps them create professional resumes.
