Orbit Live’15: Revisiting Workshops by Prosenjit Ganguly and Saurabh Saxena
Festivalslive.com thought to bid a goodbye to the very first month of 2015 by giving you an inside story of the incredible workshops by Prosenjit Ganguly and Saurabh Saxena that shaped up this month at Arena’s Orbit Live 2015- International Animation and Visual Effects Festival.
Prosenjit Ganguly, Animation Filmmaker & Designer
Workshop Subject- Visual Humour
“We began with the purpose of humour and the reason behind human laughter. That took us a little deeper into looking at comedy as an element of entertainment. It was also important to acknowledge comedy as the most difficult form of visual entertainment.
We also took a step forward to identify principles that help in the creation of visual humour. To understand the application of these principles the participants were asked to create short skits based on unusual products or services.
Orbit live 15 was a thorough entertainer! It was a great moment to see our teacher Shri RL Mistry getting awarded for his immense academic contributions.”
Saurabh Saxena, Technical head, Artha Animation
Workshop Subject-Product Shot
My workshop centered on explaining the crucial principles of Product Shot – a key object in executing a commercial. I focused on Camera framing of the product, Selection of Colors and Background, Lighting specification for enhanced viewing.
The students were enthusiastic as well as dedicated, and the result brought out by them in limited time was quite impressive. They are well versed with technicalities, but creative decision over Camera Framing and their choice of colors will add to their technical abilities.
The major challenge, while creating a product shot, I feel, is to decide the Software and Medium first, considering the complexity and nature of the product.
Arena orbit is an amazing event, where you spread and gain knowledge from your fellow mentors as well as students. I would love to remain the part of Arena Orbit family.
