Arena student enters finals of Nasscom Game Developers Conference
Aniket Hodavadekar (student of Arena Animation), along with Anmol Mahatpurkar (student of St. Xavier), participated & won the first prize in the regional contest of Game Jam Titan held in Mumbai. Aniket was responsible for the design of the game, while Anmol took care of programming. The team developed a game on the theme of ‘Trip’. Instead of the more popular concept of travel, they used the theme for its electrical meaning of a fuse, which helped them win the contest.
The regional event was held from 19th – 21st September, 2014 at Sardar Vallabhai Patel College, Mumbai. The team worked continuously for three days to win a gold medal, five Flipkart vouchers worth Rs. 2000 each & invitations to the finals.
Game Jam Titan, a game development competition conducted by Mind Box & Nasscom, selected talented participants from six cities namely, Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Pune. The competition will culminate in an all-India final to be held at Nasscom Game Developers Conference at Pune this November.
Selected teams will have to develop a PC-based game on a theme that will be provided by the jury on the spot and compete with each other for national honours on 11th & 12th November, 2014.
All the best to the team!
