An invite-only event for professionals in media & entertainment, ‘The Future of Media Entertainment Conclave’ is a B2B event hosted as part of Orbit Live 2017. This daylong event was conducted on Saturday, 4th February featured expert panellists bouncing ideas, and sharing insights into the future of technology, content, consumption & monetization in this exciting industry.

Virtual, augmented & mixed reality, with their new forms of storytelling & narratives, have immense potential to engage & interact with audience. The session included virtual, augmented & mixed reality which is currently being blended in the Indian media entertainment space. It featured insights & perspectives of leading studios & agencies in this space.
2. Artificial Intelligence & deep learning in media entertainment
Adding the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) & deep learning to media entertainment platforms & products creates new possibilities and leads to innovation. A panel of professionals from some of India’s finest companies that have deployed the power of AI & deep learning in their offerings showcased & discussed how they are innovating to create a better future for the media entertainment industry.
The conclave featured a co-located vamrr VR pavilion with virtual reality demos.
3. The Angel & VC Perspective on technology intersecting media entertainment
When technology intersects media entertainment, it has the potential for scalability & innovative monetization. A panel featuring angels & investors who have invested in technology companies that intersect media entertainment discussed the uniqueness of the industry from the ‘investment’ perspective. They discussed how technology brings in ROI potential, which are the companies to watch out for, business models, and the big problems waiting to be solved in this exciting & creative space.
4. Defining new-age consumers & consumption patterns in media entertainment
New-age consumers (Gen X) are always online. But what else do we know about our youngest target audience? What changes do we observe in Gen Y as life gets increasingly online? As virtual assistants, chat bots, smartphones, mobile broadband, Always Online, 360 video, live streaming, and connected cloud become part of daily consumption, what are the latest trends in consumption of media entertainment? What does the new-age consumer like and what more do they want? Are older consumers morphing their habits as the world changes around them? Be it VFX powered movies that cross hundred crore box office in regional cinema, Indian animated short film winning top honours at Siggraph Asia, Indian international M&A in the gaming space or new technology R&D teams being nurtured in Indian arm of VFX multinationals, there is a lot happening in the Indian animation, VFX & gaming space. The panel shared perspectives on emerging trends to watch out in art, technology, business, design and storytelling.
The conclave was followed by the 'Indian international media entertainment industry B2B networking' session featuring 15 international guests from around the world.
