Arena Indore celebrates International Animation Day
Indore: On Sunday, 1st November, over 2500 students of animation & multimedia thronged the streets of Indore. The occasion? Celebrating the 8th International Animation Day (IAD) organized by ASIFA India.
The event featured several animation enthusiasts dressed up as popular cartoon characters. Walking down the street, you could spot everyone from Mickey Mouse to Tom & Jerry to the more recent ZooZoos.
The ‘animation rally’ was supported by The Animation Society, India & the Indore Animation Association.
The IAD, meanwhile, is an annual global celebration to recognize the people involved in the art & technology of animation, celebrated every year on the 28th October.
Since its start in 2002, IAD has been a film festival that has provided the Indian animation artists a platform to interact & build a community. Being among the first animation festivals in India, IAD has been actively supported by the artists’ community & the industry at large. This year's celebrations for IAD 09 are being held at various locations throughout the country between 25th October & 8th November.› Back
