The Arena Animation centre in Dilsukhnagar, Hyderabad, celebrated its 13th Anniversary on 17th July. Srinivas Mohan, acclaimed VFX expert and three-time National Award winner from Indian Artists, who played a key role in developing
the visual effects of India's most expensive graphics-laden film ‘Robo’, made an
in-depth presentation about the film for the centre’s students.

It was a rare learning opportunity as Srinivas treated students to an elaborate, shot-by-shot, five-hour screening of the graphic construction of the film. He later launched the 3D Animation Short Film ‘Twisted’, created by the centre’s students.

Naveen Medaram, VFX Expert from the UK and Basireddy, CEO of Digi Quest Studios, Hyderabad, also graced the occasion and inspired students with their talk.

Naveen Medaram, an immensely successful alumnus of Arena Animation, Dilsukhnagar, and VFX expert at Double Negative Studios, UK, was the Guest of Honour. He delivered a presentation on the Visual Effects of ‘Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix’. He also screened a VFX montage of assorted Hollywood smash hits including Batman, Poseidon, 10,000 BC, Pirates of the Caribbean, and other Hollywood films.

Stressing on the fact that there are definite job opportunities in the Animation & VFX industry, Basireddy exhorted students to chase excellence and encouraged them to pursue their career dream with passion.

The evening ended with the distribution of Awards recognizing and honouring excellence among the centre’s students.
