Arena Animation has a successful presence in Sayajigunj, Vadodara, since 1997. Located near The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, the Sayajigunj centre is close to the Central Railway Station and the Central Bus Stand. Exhibitions

Arena Animation Sayajigunj integrates life outside classroom with teaching that occurs within. Becoming a professional in the animation & VFX industry entails more than just honing skills; it also means gaining practical experience and creative enrichment that come from showcasing work in a real gallery setting.

Exhibitions organised by the Sayajigunj centre include:

  • Graphics + Artistic = Graphistic
    The centre organised an exclusive exhibition named 'Graphics + Artistic = Graphistic' for their first-semester students, where they showcased their works in various categories including redrawing, stationary, digital paintings, posters and advertising materials. Students from all other semesters and parents of all students visited the exhibition.

  • Graphics Galleria
    Graphics Galleria, an exhibition organised by Arena Animation Sayajigunj presented student artworks in graphic designing. Through compositing and interactive multimedia design, students redesigned branding, packaging and marketing materials of various top brands around the world.

  • 3D exhibition
    The 3D exhibition organized by Arena Animation Sayajigunj centre showcased projects done by students who learned 3ds Max software. The best 33 works out of the 55 entries were displayed in the exhibition.

  • Artistic Foyer
    Arena Animation Sayajigunj recently conducted a drawing exhibition named ‘Artistic Foyer’. Students who completed their first semester displayed their works in this exhibition. The works consisted of portraits, paintings, abstract art and perspective drawings. The students had also actively participated in the decoration of the exhibition area.


Seminars & workshops

Eminent personalities from the animation, VFX and film industry conducts seminars & workshops at the Arena Animation Sayajigunj centre, round the year. Students experience a good blend of theory and practical learning.

Recent workshops organised by the Sayajigunj centre include:

  • Design composition by Jabera Sulemani, alumnus of National Institute of Design
  • Living animation by Prosenjit Ganguly, independent animation film designer
  • Matte paintings by Harshvardhan Singh
  • Product Designing by Harshvardhan Singh and Tazein Nizami
  • Visual storytelling by Rajni Salvi, artist

The faculty of the centre conducts numerous workshops too, on a wide range of topics – including understanding drawing for 2D animation, advanced rigging, calligraphy, clay modelling, digital painting, filmmaking, glass painting, matte painting, and pencil drawing.

Picnics

Arena Animation Sayajigunj centre organises picnics for students to give them a temporary relief from their routine schedule. Picnics help them feel fresh and allows to take up their studies with renewed vigour.



Other activities and events

Arena Animation Sayajigunj centre organises various creative competitions on special occasions including Holi, Navratri, Ganesh Chaturthi, Independence Day, Republic Day, Friendship Day, Mother's Day and International Yoga Day.



Industry visits

The centre organises visits to animation & VFX studios and printing press. These industry visits help students meet professionals, gain exposure to current work practices, and get hands-on experience with production methods & new technologies. Recently, the students of Arena Animation Sayajigunj centre visited Vistaprint inc.

Industry visits

Job placements

The centre conducts grooming, personality development, and spoken English sessions to help students improve their communication & presentation skills. With mock interviews, the faculty prepare students to answer tough questions and build confidence for job interviews.

Animation & VFX studios across India participate in the national-level job fair 'Make Me Job Ready', hosted by Arena Animation Sayajigunj centre. Students have been placed with various top companies in the country - including MPC (Moving Picture Company), Red Chillies Entertainment, DQ, Advance Nanotech, Inc. (AVNA), Mukta Arts, Xentrix Studios, and Vistaprint.



Achievements

Students of Arena Animation Sayajigunj centre actively participate in international, national, state, and centre level competitions. Some of their achievements include:

  • Foul In Love, an animated short film created by the students won the award for the Best Animated Short Film at the Chambal International Short Film Festival. Another short film, Dark Knight, received Special Recognition Award on Popular Choice category.
  • Two students of Arena Animation Sayajigunj were selected for the International Level Competition held in Dubai, by Living Talent organization.
  • Students have bagged numerous awards in the categories – 3D short films, TV commercials, live action films, print ads, 3D modelling, 3D animation and rigging.
  • A student of Arena Animation bagged The Golden Cursor Animation Awards in the digital artwork category in 2010.
  • Short films made by students were selected for screening in inter-college student festivals, celebrations associated with traffic awareness week and 'Yes, We Are the Change' short film competition.
